So I took my Z to SpecialtyZ for a 120k service and a few misc. things yesterday. Drove it from San Diego to Chatsworth in LA. My Z has been running pretty bad with my recently swapped in motor. My fear was confirmed when Greg took my Z for an initial test around the block. He could tell by how it started that I had low compression in one cylinder. I was pretty bummed but continued with the service because I needed a reliable Z to get through college. After tearing it down, the timing belt and water pump looked to be in decent condition, however, Seb found that it was off a couple of teeth. This explained why the CAS had to be maxed to reach 15 degrees before. I was impressed at how thorough and efficient Seb's work was - truly top notch! All OEM parts, nothing cheaped out like some other Z shops. After everything was put back together we found out that the new OEM radiator cap resulted in a leaky radiator. Apparently the cap I had on there for 2+ years was bad all this time... lol. Seb went out of his way to get me a Koyo replacement immediately. He said he didn't want me to get stuck on the 405 :P To conclude the visit, Greg took my Z for an after run. Little did I know Greg's plan was to slide the wet streets of Chatsworth! This man has amazing car control. Lots of laughs and smiles after that The Z is now a night and day difference. If any of you in Socal need a place to go, this is it! It was definitely worth the 260 miles round trip. Quality, infinite knowledge, and top-notch service in the same place; why would you need to go anywhere else? Thanks a lot Greg and Seb!!!
